In order to use the "sourcing event" tool, you need to create one.

To do this, first select Sourcing event in the main menu. This will open the page with the list of events, if any.

<aside> ❗ Attention! The list of sourcing events can be displayed in two modes: "You are the customer" and "You are the supplier". If the plan provides for both modes, select the "Customer" mode using the switch

To create a sourcing event, click the Create event button on the toolbar. Then in the opened "Create event" window successively specify the necessary characteristics that define the event

All characteristics are organized into blocks:


Sourcing event

The following characteristics need to be specified in this block:

  1. select type of sourcing event;

You should distinguish between commercial and non-commercial events.

Commercial event - is a sourcing event where a competitive bidding process takes place and a winner must be selected. There are three types of commercial events available in the system

Non-commercial event - is the customer's request for information from its potential suppliers. No obligation, it can be completed without selecting a winner. Information requests are divided into the following types:

  1. specify the company on whose behalf the event is being created;
  2. specify the functional group of employees who have access to the event;

<aside> ❗ Attention!  If the group is not specified, all employees of the Customer's company will have access to this sourcing event.

  1. set the event name; It should be short and concise so that it is easy for both the customers and partners to find.
  2. add notes characterizing this event. These notes are visible only for the customer.
  3. If "Sealed-Bid auction" is selected as the event type, it is mandatory to specify the Responsible for the sealed bid opening.

To stop the process of creating a sourcing event, press Save Draft.

<aside> 💡 The sourcing event will appear in the list of events in the "You are the customer" mode as a Draft. You can continue working on this event at any time.

Settings

The "Settings" section displays a list of various parameters that determine the event. Each events type has its own set of parameters.
